School Zone

Northcote Intermediate does not have an enrolment scheme and we welcome enrolments from all areas. Our main Contributing Schools are: Northcote Primary, Birkenhead Primary, Willow Park Primary, Sunnybrae Primary and Onepoto Primary.

Prospectus

Our prospectus for 2011 will be ready at the end of Term 2, 2010. Prospectuses will be delivered to all the contributing schools listed above as well as Verrans Primary, Kauri Park School and St Marys, Northcote, in the week beginning 19 July 2010. If your child does not attend one of those schools we are happy to send a prospectus to you. Please e-mail our Office Manager, Helen Fisher, on admin@northcoteint.school.nz or phone 481 1400.

2011 Enrolment Process

4 August 2010, 7.00 p.m.: Information Evening 
Information evening for prospective students and parents at Northcote Intermediate School Library. At this evening we will deliver a brief presentation about key features of our school and there will be opportunities for you to ask questions.

5 August 2010, 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.: Open Day
This is a normal school day and you are invited to walk around the school with one of our current students to see what happens on a ‘normal’ day at NIS.

7 August 2010: Open Day
Come along and see a range of curriculum and extra curricula activities. Current students will give you a guided tour of the school from 1.30 – 2.30 p.m. and there will be performances from some of our pupils in the hall from 2.30 – 3.00 p.m.

August 9 - 13 2010: Enrolment Week
All new students are ‘interviewed’ by the Principal - you need to make an appointment during enrolment week. Students need to attend the enrolment interview and must bring a birth certificate or passport. For students not born in New Zealand you must bring proof of eligibility to enrol - e.g. residence visa, student visa, parents’ work permit.
All enrolled students will receive a formal acknowledgement of their enrolment.
Enrolment interviews are available on:

Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August 2010, 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

Wednesday 11th August 2010, 8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

3 December 2010, 9.15 – 11.45 a.m.: Orientation Morning  - for all students enrolled for 2011. Buses will be provided for students from our Contributing Schools. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend also.
