School Zone

Northcote Intermediate does not have an enrolment scheme and we welcome enrolments from all areas. Our main Contributing Schools are: Northcote Primary, Birkenhead Primary, Willow Park Primary, Sunnybrae Primary and Onepoto Primary.

Prospectus

Our prospectus for 2012 will be ready at the end of Term 2, 2011. Prospectuses will be delivered to all the contributing schools listed above as well as Verrans Primary, Kauri Park School and St Marys, Northcote. If your child does not attend one of those schools we are happy to send a prospectus to you. Please e-mail our Office Manager, Helen Fisher, on admin@northcoteint.school.nz or phone 481 1400.

2012 Enrolment Process

17 August 2011, 7.00 p.m.: Information Evening 
Information evening for prospective students and parents in the Northcote Intermediate School Library. At this evening we will deliver a brief presentation about key features of our school and there will be opportunities for you to ask questions.

20 August 2011: Open Day
Come along and see a range of curriculum and extra curricula activities. Current students will give you a guided tour of the school from 1.30 – 2.30 p.m. and there will be performances from some of our pupils in the hall from 2.30 – 3.00 p.m.

24 August 2011, 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.: Open Day
This is a normal school day and you are invited to walk around the school with one of our current students to see what happens on a ‘normal’ day at NIS.

29 August - 2 September 2011: Enrolment Week
All new students are ‘interviewed’ by the Principal - you need to make an appointment during enrolment week. Students need to attend the enrolment interview and must bring a birth certificate or passport. For students not born in New Zealand you must bring proof of eligibility to enrol - e.g. residence visa, student visa, parents’ work permit.
All enrolled students will receive a formal acknowledgement of their enrolment.

Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th August 2011, 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

Wednesday 31st August 2011, 8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September 2011, 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

2 December 2011, 9.15 – 11.45 a.m.: Orientation Morning  - for all students enrolled for 2012. Buses will be provided for students from our Contributing Schools. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend also.
